Music There's probably no genre I will refuse to listen to. I have found artists or even individual tracks in every type of music imaginable. I do like certain groups, as a general rule. Lacuna Coil, Elis, epica, most other "symphonic rock"; classics that we all grew up with: The Cars, Led Zepplin, Peter Frampton (*blush*), Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath... yes, even Air Supply, Pink Floyd, Queen; swing, jazz, blues... very little country, mostly a bit of "classics", such as Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline. Pretty much all classical and symphonic pieces.
Movies Too many to list... I am a huge fan of art-house style productions and independent films. Anything with Adrien Brody, mostly because I enjoy merely staring at his loveliness. (Yes, I have odd tastes, why do you ask?) Anything that involves brain function beyond basic Alpha waves. Classic horror and thrillers. Well-done sci-fi and fantasy flicks. Historical pieces in which the directors and producers do not willingly "experiment" with established story/ fact. Favourite titles include: American Beauty, The Pianist, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Monsoon Wedding, Beautiful Thing,Brokeback Mountain, Alien, Aliens, The Abyss, Jaws, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Quills, Valmont, Perfume, Pan's Labyrinth, Dangerous Beauty... I could go on for days.
TV "Television is a new medium. It's called a medium because nothing is well-done."---Fred Allen--- Very little these days interests me on ye olde stupidity-box. I'll indulge in occaisional episodes of House. "Reality" programming gives me a psychologically dirty feeling. I have to admit, however, that I have a certain fascination with Food Network the History Channel. For the not-feeling-too-intellectual moments, I have an embarassing penchant for MXC. I do enjoy several sci-fi series. I am a known trekker. (NOT a "trekkie", darnit!) I also am a huge "Firefly" fan... huzzah, Browncoats!
Books A little bit of everything... I think that most authors have something to offer. Favorites include eastern religions, philosophy, mythology ( especially Joseph Campbell), foreign travel (awesome to check out: "Once Upon a Time in Great Britain" by Melanie Wentz), sci-fi, fantasy, folklore, cynical fiction (any other Christopher Moore fans here?). Have just started the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin, under mass persuasion of a friend who tells me that the series is akin to crack. We shall see... HUGE Neil Gaiman fan... as a friend of mine said, "What a great author... what an unfortunate name."
Likes Curiosity, intelligence, humour and fancy coffee drinks with extra shots of espresso.
Dislikes Unasked questions, ignorance, intolerance and khaki pants.
Vices I'm an admitted spelling and grammar nazi. I tend to pre-judge many people on this account. (For shame on me!) Other vices include good movies, good books, good wine, and good friends.
Virtues Well, you know many things can be viewed as virtues... ;-)
Heroes Those who unendingly search for the truth. "Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it." -Andre Gide
